Launch of UM6P CoreLabs: A Multidisciplinary Research support Platform

2025-12-04UM6P, Benguerir

On December 4th, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University inaugurated CoreLabs at its Benguerir campus, marking a key milestone in the development of advanced scientific infrastructure in Morocco. Designed as a multidisciplinary research support platform, CoreLabs brings together three complementary units : Imaging and Characterization, Biosciences, and Analytical Chemistry, to support cutting-edge experimental research

The platform provides integrated capabilities for observation, analysis, and validation across a wide range of scientific disciplines. Equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, CoreLabs offers access to advanced instruments such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Focused Ion Beam (FIB) imaging, high-throughput sequencing systems, 3D cellular imaging platforms, and analytical tools for the detection of pollutants and trace elements

These resources enable researchers to address complex scientific and technical challenges with high precision and efficiency. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and facilitating access to world-class infrastructure, CoreLabs contributes to strengthening scientific sovereignty, promoting local innovation, and positioning Morocco, and more broadly Africa, within global networks of knowledge production and dissemination.
