On July 2-3, 2024, UM6P CORE LABS, in collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific, organized a workshop titled “Analytical Days Workshop”, in UM6P Benguerir. This event brought together experts from various fields to discuss the latest advances in chromatography and mass spectrometry, as well as their environmental and food safety applications.   The opening of the event was marked by a presentation of the structure of UM6P CORE LABS by the Core Labs Head, Mr. Issam RABTTI. His intervention provided an overview of the Facilities and missions of UM6P CORE LABS, highlighting their crucial role in research and innovation

Subsequently, there were presentations generated by Thermo Fisher technical experts, covering: Introduction to Thermo Fisher Scientific - Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division, Overview of HPLC Products and Their Applications, Overview of GC and GC-MS Products, Environmental Applications in Ion Chromatography, Emerging Applications of GC and GC-MS, Latest Solutions for Sample Preparation 'From Sample to Vial' and Chromeleon Chromatography Data Systems. These sessions allowed participants to gain an in-depth understanding of HPLC, GC, and GC-MS technologies, as well as their various applications, particularly in the environmental field. The second day of the workshop focused on LC-MS applications and trace element analysis techniques. The presentations covered several key areas: LC-MS for environmental and food safety, new approaches in multi-omics LC-MS, advanced trace element analysis techniques, high resolution and multi-omics ICP-MS

collectors, as well as the ARDIA software platform. These sessions highlighted recent advances in mass spectrometry and elemental analysis, emphasizing their critical importance in ensuring safety and environmental monitoring.   These two days were a resounding success, providing participants with a unique opportunity to learn about Thermo Fisher Scientific's cutting-edge technologies and interact with experts in the field.
